Girodisc Front Slotted 2pc Rotor Ford Focus RS MK3 - Right Hand Disc

Girodisc Front Slotted 2pc Rotor Ford Focus RS MK3 - Right Hand Disc

The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc. No modifications are necessary. The disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OE calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight high performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency. The Girodisc front rotors are approx 18.0lbs vs. 23.1lbs for the stock units. This reduction in rotational and unsprung weight allows for quicker acceleration and suspension response.

The central hat section of our rotor is made from strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum.  The disc is made from our own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in house at Girodisc.  The rotor utilizes 48 curved directional vanes, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.

The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 8 or 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads.

Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.

Girodisc is a Braking Technology Company dedicated to developing the best quality high performance braking components and solutions.

Girodisc is guided under the direction of company Principal Martin Meade, who spent five years as an Engineer with Porsche Engineering Services, where he played a role in developing current Porsche technology. Martin began his engineering career working in Aerospace, developing tools and components for special projects. Before working with Porsche, Martin learned a great deal about vehicle design and technologies by working with several vehicle design and development firms. Martin has developed a critical eye and will not accept anything but the best quality.

Martin has enlisted help from key sources such as a former Road Testing engineer and Design Engineer for Brembo North America in the High Performance division, Eric Dahl. With lessons learned at Brembo, and experience in prototype and racing car design, Eric has developed a broad spectrum of engineering capabilities in the world of high performance automobiles, and specifically the technologies for developing braking systems.

Girodisc designs and engineers the replacement discs after documenting and studying the OE brake system and specifically the disc design. After analyzing the data and determining how best to maximize the benefit of the new disc, the design process is carried out using 3D CAD-CAE (Computer aided drafting, Computer aided engineering). Prototypes are constructed and tested with a vehicle. When the Girodisc team is satisfied that the disc will meet the goals established for the vehicle, it is produced in limited quantities and released for sale.

Putting lessons learned and the latest technologies together to develop the highest performance braking systems for your project, racing car, or road car is the mission of Girodisc.

Girodisc brake discs are available for private label applications. Contact info@girodisc.com to begin discussing how we can be of service in developing braking solutions for your company. Specific aesthetics and designs are possible. Girodisc is already producing private label discs, and confidentiality in this regard is taken seriously.
Girodisc is also available to develop braking systems for special projects, racing cars, tuner cars, hot-rods, and concept vehicles. Girodisc has already developed systems for OE manufacturers’ concept and prototype vehicles. These are confidential projects, and will not be shown or discussed without permission.
